17-Year Old Scotty McCreery Wins ‘American Idol’

Nashville teen Scotty McCreery has won ‘American Idol,’ closing the show with his future single “I Love You This Big.”

“Never in my wildest dreams,” he said, shocked by his victory. “Man, it’s been a year since me and Lauren Alaina tried out, and me and her have been together since day one and we’re gonna stay together.” He added, “I gotta thank the Lord first; he got me here.”

The final show also featured performances by Steven Tyler, who sang “Dream On,” Marc Anthony, Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Bono and several ‘Idol’ contestants.
